Character:

It is white crystalline powder or block, odorless, slight bitter. Relative density is 1.582. Melting point is 324ºC. It has strong moisture absorption and highly dissolves in water.

Usage:

It is used as buffering agent, seasoning reagent, etc.Textile & Leather: Neutralises sulfuric-acid waste streams in dyeing operations and acts as a photoresist with aniline dyes .
 Pickling agent in chrome tanning to promote uniform penetration of chromium salts .
Rubber & Plastics:•nhibits premature vulcanisation of chloroprene during synthetic-rubber production .
Construction: Functions as an environmentally friendly concrete sealant, reducing water permeation at lower cost than epoxy systems .
Detergents & Cleaners:Serves as a buffering and anti-redeposition agent in heavy-duty industrial and institutional cleaners .
Heat-storage Devices: Active component in reusable "hot ice" hand warmers and heating pads; supersaturated solutions release heat on crystallisation .
Electroplating & Photography:Used as a buffering electrolyte in plating baths and as a stabiliser in photographic emulsions .
Miscellaneous Industrial Processes:PCarbon source for large-scale bacterial fermentations.
Reduces static-charge build-up during the manufacture of disposable cotton products
